Contact us about supporting KrY

KrY focuses on the needs of pre-school children by providing welfare and education programmes within family and community environments. It has also been instrumental in informing government policy on pre-school education and is the only local NGO traning pre-school teachers.

In our experience:

  • In a country in which only 9.3% of children aged between 3-5 are enrolled in a formal preschool and only 6.1% have the opportunity to visit a community or home-based preschools, it is impressive that KrY has established 86 community preschools. 36 of these are run autonomously by the communities they serve.
  • Its work with parents and community members is geared towards responsibility and ownership.
  • The current government preschool curriculum has been informed by KrY's suggestions.
