MondoChallenge Foundation combines
volunteer placements with development projects and strategic grants to bring
long-term improvement to local communities around the world.
The Foundation uses locally-placed volunteers and staff to improve education
and skills in communities where the charity has built up a long term presence.
The practical contributions made by volunteers on the ground are underpinned
by financial support, including educational grants for pupils, equipment
and capital improvements for schools, skills training and support for local
businesses.
Our assessment:
- The Foundation believes in small, well-managed grants and cost-effective
projects which can make a significant long-term difference to the prospects
of local communities.
- Volunteers placed in remote communities can have life-changing effects,
inspiring children in primary education and bringing new approaches to
improve income-generation.
- The long-term presence of the charity in its chosen communities means
that response to need can be quick and appropriate.
