Community Development Charities
Community development is the practice of developing the social well- being
of local, regional and, sometimes, national communities. Prospero recommends
projects that empower individuals and groups of people by providing them
with the skills they need to break the cycle of poverty and disadvantage,
and effect positive change within their communities. Initiatives that benefit
the community at large include: microcredit, self-help groups, capacity
building projects and vocational training schemes.
