Contact us about supporting CFK
North Korea has a growing rate of tuberculosis. Registered cases have increased
from 52,000 in 2007 to 100,000 in 2009, yet there is only enough medicine
in the country to treat half of those who are suffering. CFK supports local
medical facilities by delivering TB medicine, hospital equipment including
x-ray machines and microscopes, and bicycles for doctors. CFK also delivers
shipments of food, seeds and greenhouses for growing food, and other agricultural
supplies. Then, through frequent field visits, CFK carefully monitors how
supplies are both distributed and used.
Our assessment:
- CKF is one of the very few international aid organisations able to work
effectively in North Korea.
- Their administrative costs are minimal, and 96% of CKF's income goes
directly into projects, which support over 40,000 beneficiaries annually.
