Contact us about supporting FFI
FFI works with a
network of local partners to address species and habitat protection, and
provide expertise and funding. Their holistic approach to conservation encompasses
the social, economic and political pressures of the countries in which they
operate.
FFI works with governments, businesses, NGOs and community groups, adopting
both a top-down approach when working at government level to inform policy,
and a bottom-up approach in response to the locally-identified needs of
the communities in which they operate.
Our assessment:
- Large scale projects, such as FFI's land purchase programme, can make
an enormous difference. Since 1998, FFI has secured 4.4 million hectares
of land and contributed to the conservation of over 13.9 million hectares,
an area larger than England.
- By working with local networks, FFI is far-reaching and effective.
It does not impose itself but is responsive to requests to share its expertise.
