Contact us about supporting KCDI
Orphaned, abandoned and disabled babies, children and young adults are offered a home at KCDI within a familial environment. Additionally, the centre offers training in traditional Cambodian music, dance and theatre. As well as providing vocational skills and contributing to the preservation of Cambodia's cultural heritage, the programme offers therapeutic benefits. Alternative vocational skills are offered to students who are neither academically nor artistically inclined.
In our experience:
- KCDI's 35 resident children grow up in a secure and loving environment. 400 local day children attend the cultural programme.
- KCDI runs on a part self-sufficient basis, through income generated from its concerts, dance and theatre productions and other small enterprises and provides employment.
- KCDI functions as cultural centre for the local community and has a significant impact in the preservation of Cambodia's fragile artistic and cultural traditions, which was virtually destroyed by the Khmer Rouge.
